The Nigerian Navy has warned the public against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing the 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise. The Navy said the notice was not authorised and urged prospective applicants to rely only on recruitment information released through its official channels.
The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, said in a statement on Monday that the circulating notice was not an authorised publication and should not be trusted as an official recruitment announcement.
He advised prospective applicants and the public to exercise caution and disregard recruitment information obtained from unofficial social media accounts, websites or other unauthorised sources.
Folorunsho said official information regarding Nigerian Navy recruitment, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and categories, would only be communicated through authorised Nigerian Navy channels.
“The official website for Nigerian Navy recruitment or enlistment is http://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, and the official website remains https://navy.mil.ng,” he said.
He also advised the public against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms in connection with Nigerian Navy recruitment, stressing that the exercise was free of charge.
“The Nigerian Navy does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf,” he said.
Folorunsho said the Navy remained committed to maintaining a transparent and credible recruitment process and would continue to provide timely and accurate information through its official communication channels.
