Ondo State has approved the adoption of the federal salary structure for medical and health workers across the state public service.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announced the decision during the annual get-together and send-off ceremony held for retired permanent secretaries and tutors-general in Akure.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the public service and improving productivity through enhanced employee welfare and institutional support.

According to a statement issued after the event, “Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the public service and improving productivity.”

The move is expected to boost morale among healthcare professionals and align the state’s remuneration framework with federal standards for medical personnel.

The Head of Service, Bayo Philip, commended the governor for prioritising workers’ welfare and sustaining policies aimed at improving conditions within the civil service.

Philip said civil servants in the state had continued to benefit from what he described as a responsive and worker-friendly administration.

He added that the governor recently approved the immediate payment of terminal benefits for retired permanent secretaries to ease access to their entitlements.
