The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has disbursed N1.126 billion in retirement benefits to 668 retired public servants as part of the state’s ongoing pension obligations.

The payments, which cover accrued pension rights earned before the introduction of the Contributory Pension Scheme in 2007, were announced during the 114th Batch Retirement Bond Certificate Presentation Ceremony held in Lagos over the weekend.

Director-General of LASPEC, Babalola Obilana, said the latest disbursement reflects the state government’s continued commitment to the financial welfare of retirees.

“The 114th batch joins the growing number of retirees who have received their benefits, reinforcing our promise of financial security to public servants,” Obilana said.

He noted that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to ensure timely pension payments and strengthen confidence in the state’s retirement benefit system.
