The Oyo State Government has advanced the careers of 1,535 local government staff across all 33 councils, releasing promotion letters covering Grade Level 06 to 17 across seven departments as part of the 2025 promotion exercise.
The statement, signed by the Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs Lala Olufunmike Foluso, said the exercise reflected the administration’s focus on rewarding productivity and preventing career stagnation at the grassroots.
According to the commission, Education and Social Services received 431 promotion letters, Finance and Supplies 315, Administration and General Services 288, Agriculture and Natural Resources 57, Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics 40, Environmental Health Services 44, while Works also featured in the list.
Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon, said the promotion was a clear demonstration of the present administration’s commitment to building a professional, efficient and well-motivated local government workforce capable of delivering quality service to the people at the grassroots.

He said the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde understood that a motivated workforce was the engine room of good governance.

The prompt release of these promotion letters is in line with his resolve to ensure that no civil servant is stagnated and that hard work is duly recognised and rewarded,” he added.
The commission said the move is expected to boost morale and service delivery in councils, as workers move into their new grade levels with immediate effect.
