The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has opened recruitment for Nigerians who want to serve as ad hoc staff in the 2027 general election.
The electoral body announced that its recruitment portal, INECPRES, went live on Friday, September 18, 2026, for the exercise.
According to a public notice shared on its X handle on Friday, applications will run for two months.
INEC said the portal will close on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will activate the INECPRES for interested Applicants who wish to serve as ad-hoc staff during the 2027 General Election as scheduled below,” the commission stated.
Giving further details on the timeline, the commission said, “The activation of INECPRES on Friday, 18 September 2026 by 8:00am and closes on Wednesday, 18th Nov, 2026 by 12 midnight.”
The commission explained that interested persons can apply either through its website or through the dedicated INECPRES platform.
“The Online application will be available on the INEC website via the link http://inecnigeria.org (for both mobile App. and the Web Application),” it said.
For those using laptops and desktops, INEC directed applicants to the web portal.
“The web version (using a laptop and desktop) shall be accessible via the portal URL: http://pres.inecnigeria.org,” the notice added.
The commission also provided options for mobile users.
“The Android mobile App. shall be accessible via the link http://inecnigeria.org/pres.apk or http://inecpres-app.com/pres-app.apk,” it stated.
INEC urged all interested and qualified Nigerians to apply only through the approved channels before the deadline as part of early preparations for the 2027 polls.
