By Mariam Aligbeh

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has commenced an online accreditation exercise for federal civil servants on Salary Grade Levels (GLs) 14, 15 and 16 who are due for promotion, with affected officers required to complete the process by August 28, 2026.

The commission’s Chairman, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, announced the exercise in a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr Ibraheem Zakariyya, on Friday in Abuja. He directed all eligible officers to complete their accreditation through the FCSC’s designated promotion portal, warning that the deadline would not be extended and officers who fail to meet it would have to wait until 2027 to re-present themselves for the exercise.

According to Zakariyya, affected officers will access the accreditation portal using login details that will be sent to their registered email addresses.

Olaopa advised all eligible officers to complete the process within the stipulated period, stressing that the portal would close on August 28.

He said officers who failed to complete the accreditation before the deadline would not be accommodated in the current exercise and would have to re-present themselves in 2027.

The FCSC Chairman urged all affected officers to take advantage of the period provided and complete the accreditation before the portal closes.

Olaopa also directed Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure that all concerned staff are informed about the exercise.

He said the information should reach officers serving both within and outside their headquarters, including those posted abroad, to ensure full compliance.

The FCSC boss further advised all affected officers and MDAs to comply fully with the guidelines and timelines for the accreditation exercise.
