The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has delayed the release of its recruitment shortlist to allow for a more detailed screening process, the agency announced on Friday.
The shortlist was earlier scheduled to be published on Thursday, August 13. NAQS said the delay was necessary to ensure a thorough, transparent and accurate recruitment process as it processes 407,659 successfully submitted applications.
In a public notice signed by the Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, and shared on its official X handle, NAQS said the postponement was necessary to safeguard the integrity of the exercise.
“In order to ensure a thorough, transparent and accurate process, we are unable to release the list of shortlisted candidates as scheduled,” the notice stated.
The agency apologised to the nearly 408,000 applicants and asked them to remain patient.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience or uncertainty this delay may have caused and appreciate the patience, understanding and continued interest of all applicants.
“All applicants and the general public are hereby notified that a new date will be communicated in due course through our official communication channels,” it added.
NAQS also warned candidates to ignore fake updates and rely only on information from its verified platforms.
The recruitment portal, which ran from July 28 to August 10, recorded 606,928 attempted applications. Of that number, 407,659 were successfully submitted, while 199,269 were incomplete.
