Great Place To Work Nigeria has released its Best Workplaces in Banking 2026 ranking, recognising five financial institutions for demonstrating an exceptional employee experience based on feedback collected through its Trust Index survey. The ranking places PremiumTrust Bank first, followed by FSDH Merchant Bank Limited, ProvidusUnity Bank, The Alternative Bank and Quest Merchant Bank.
According to Great Place To Work, the recognised organisations have built high-trust workplace cultures where employees feel valued, respected and empowered to do their best work. The organisation said the ranking is based on employee feedback, giving workers a direct voice in assessing their workplace experience.
PremiumTrust Bank took the first position, with 425 employees listed on the 2026 banking ranking. On its Great Place To Work profile, 98 per cent of employees say it is a great place to work, compared with 57 per cent at a typical company.
Great Place To Work also reports that 99 per cent of employees said management has a clear view of where the organisation is going and how to get there, while another 99 per cent said they feel a sense of pride when they look at what the organisation accomplishes. Also, 99 per cent said the executives fully embody the best characteristics of the company, while 98 per cent said they are proud to tell others they work there and that management is competent at running the business.
FSDH Merchant Bank Limited ranked second, with 212 employees listed on the 2026 ranking. Great Place To Work says 94 per cent of its employees consider it a great place to work, compared with 57 per cent at a typical company.
Its profile shows that 99 per cent of employees believe management is competent at running the business. Another 98 per cent said new employees are made to feel welcome, management has a clear view of where the organisation is going and how to get there, people are treated fairly regardless of their race, and management is honest and ethical in its business practices.
ProvidusUnity Bank came third, with 1,060 employees listed on the 2026 banking ranking. According to its Great Place To Work profile, 91 per cent of employees say it is a great place to work, compared with 57 per cent at a typical company.
The profile also shows that 96 per cent of employees said the workplace is physically safe, they are proud to tell others they work there, people celebrate special events, the facilities contribute to a good working environment and customers would rate the service delivered as excellent.
The Alternative Bank took fourth place, with 587 employees listed on the 2026 ranking. Great Place To Work says 94 per cent of employees at the bank say it is a great place to work, compared with 57 per cent at a typical company.
The organisation’s profile shows that 97 per cent of employees are proud to tell others they work there. It also records 96 per cent saying the workplace is physically safe, new employees are made to feel welcome, management is competent at running the business and management is honest and ethical in its business practices. Quest Merchant Bank completed the top five, with 155 employees listed on Great Place To Work Nigeria’s 2026 banking ranking. On its profile, Great Place To Work reports that 80 per cent of employees say it is a great place to work. The profile also shows that 98 per cent say it is a physically safe place to work, while 97 per cent say people are treated fairly regardless of their race.
According to the profile, 93 per cent of employees say management is competent at running the business, another 93 per cent say new employees are made to feel welcome, while 93 per cent say management is honest and ethical in its business practices..
