The Nigeria Customs Service has moved to the last stage of its 2024/2025 recruitment, with 3,852 candidates invited for physical screening and documentation in Abuja.
The exercise will be held at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, and marks the end of a process that began nearly two years ago in December 2024.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Service’s National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, said the call-up comes after what officials described as one of the most competitive recruitment drives in the agency’s history.
From 573,680 applications received nationwide, only 3,852 candidates scaled through. That puts the success rate at 0.67 per cent, or roughly one in every 148 applicants.
“The Nigeria Customs Service wishes to inform all successful candidates who applied for recruitment into the Service that the physical screening and documentation exercise is scheduled to take place at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja,” the statement read.
Maiwada said successful applicants must report on dates assigned to their states and cadres, warning that failure to appear would mean automatic disqualification.
Candidates are to come with originals and photocopies of key documents. These include National Identification Number, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, educational certificates from O’Level to Degree, Certificate of State of Origin, two passport photographs, Guarantor’s Form, and NYSC Certificate where applicable.
“Furthermore, all shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the screening and documentation exercise with the original and photocopies of the following documents… Candidates are required to wear a white T-shirt, shorts, and canvas shoes for the exercise,” the statement added.
