The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned applicants nationwide that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force is entirely free of charge, urging candidates to avoid scammers and job racketeering ahead of the constable recruitment examination scheduled for April 28 to 30.
The commission stated on Saturday that the written examination, conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), will take place across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, covering both General Duty and Specialist cadres.
According to the PSC, the exercise is designed to ensure a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process while safeguarding applicants from exploitation.
In Lagos, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced that the examination will be held at the Police College, Ikeja. She explained that only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credential screening will be eligible to participate.
Adebisi added that applicants are required to print their examination invitation cards from April 24 via the official recruitment portal.
She further disclosed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Tijani, has urged candidates to adhere strictly to all guidelines, arrive early, and maintain order throughout the exercise, emphasising the importance of discipline and proper conduct.
The PSC reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on fraud, warning that any individual found engaging in illegal activities will face the full weight of the law.
“Recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force is free. No applicant is required to pay money to anyone,” the commission stated, urging candidates to remain vigilant.
Adebisi also outlined the required items for the examination, including a pen, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) bearing a clear photograph, and a printed examination invitation card.
She added that candidates are expected to appear in white shorts, white T-shirts, and white canvas shoes for the exercise.
