Ride-hailing and urban services platform inDrive has appointed content creator KieKie to the tongue-in-cheek role of “Chief Wahala Officer” (CWO) as part of a campaign designed to highlight the daily transport challenges faced by commuters in Lagos.
The company said the appointment follows an overwhelming response to the initiative, which attracted more than 450 applications from Nigerians interested in assuming the symbolic role.
According to inDrive, the campaign aims to draw attention to persistent urban mobility issues in Lagos, including traffic congestion, unreliable transport services, delivery bottlenecks, and the everyday difficulties residents encounter while moving around the city.
In her capacity as Chief Wahala Officer, KieKie will lead the #inDriveCWO campaign by encouraging Lagos residents to share their commuting experiences, with the aim of amplifying public conversations on urban mobility and transportation challenges.
Country Manager of inDrive Nigeria, Timothy Oladimeji, said KieKie was an ideal choice for the role because of her ability to connect with everyday Nigerians.
“KieKie is a perfect fit for this role because she represents exactly what this campaign is about: authenticity, humour, and relatability,” Oladimeji said.
“She has a natural ability to connect with people’s everyday experiences and turn them into conversations that everyone understands.”
