The Zeberced Group has unveiled plans to establish a Technical and Vocational Training School that will train approximately 2,000 young Nigerians annually and create 40,000 direct jobs across West Africa as part of its strategy to tackle unemployment and accelerate industrial growth. The company also announced plans to establish a FIFA-approved football academy to identify and develop talented children and young people for professional careers in the sport.

The Managing Director of Zeberced Group, Adil Aydin Kurt, disclosed the initiatives on Friday in Abuja while receiving the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by Chairperson Grace Ike, during a courtesy visit to the Abuja Industrial Park Free Zone. The visit focused on exploring areas of mutual collaboration.

Kurt said the proposed initiatives were designed to strengthen Nigeria’s workforce, promote entrepreneurship, and support long-term economic development through sustained investment in human capital.

Speaking during the visit, Kurt explained that the proposed vocational school would provide practical training across a range of technical disciplines, equipping young Nigerians with employable skills and fostering self-reliance.

Zeberced is working on a vocational school to offer training to young Nigerians, providing 40,000 direct jobs,” he said.

According to Kurt, the institution will offer courses in construction, machine design, motor vehicle technology, plumbing, metalwork, furniture production, and electrical technology.

He said the school is being designed to equip trainees with practical, industry-relevant skills that align with employers’ needs while encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation.

Reaffirming the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s future, Kurt said Zeberced remained committed to long-term investment and human capital development.

“We need to bring qualified people from different parts of the world to Nigeria because the future is Africa,” he said.

Kurt also announced plans to establish a FIFA-approved football academy that will identify and nurture talented children and young people, creating pathways to national and international football careers.

He added that Zeberced operates what it described as Africa’s first integrated mining quarry and is expanding its investments across manufacturing, construction, and other strategic sectors.

According to Kurt, the company also intends to facilitate the establishment of hundreds of factories within the Idu Industrial Area to strengthen local manufacturing capacity and boost industrial production.

He noted that the industrial development project, which commenced about 15 years ago, has continued to expand through sustained investment and organisational resilience.

Kurt further stated that the group’s investments in manufacturing, furniture, and plastics would make a significant contribution to Nigeria’s industrial transformation.

He added that Zeberced’s business philosophy is centred on creating sustainable value through strategic investment, technology transfer, and large-scale job creation.

Responding, Chairperson Grace Ike commended the company for its commitment to youth empowerment, workforce development, and national progress.

She described the proposed initiatives as a timely intervention that would help reduce unemployment, expand skills development opportunities, and support Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda.

Ike also briefed Kurt on the NUJ FCT Council’s ongoing ultra-modern Congress Hall project, noting that construction had reached an advanced stage.

She appealed for Zeberced’s support towards completing the facility, explaining that it would serve as a venue for congresses, professional training programmes, and other industry-related activities.

In response, Kurt expressed the group’s willingness to support the project, reaffirming Zeberced’s commitment to partnerships that strengthen public institutions, promote professional development, and contribute to national development.
