Rivers Police Prioritise Workforce Wellbeing with Free Medical Outreach for Personnel

By Samuel Ogunsona

The Rivers State Police Command has commenced a 14-day medical outreach programme for its personnel, reinforcing its commitment to workforce wellbeing and ensuring officers remain medically fit for duty.

Tagged “Know Your Numbers,” the initiative is being conducted at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt in collaboration with Police Health Maintenance Limited and the Healthlink and Bridge Initiative.

The programme focuses on monitoring officers’ vital signs and screening for health conditions commonly associated with the demands of police service.

Flagging off the outreach on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, said the initiative was introduced to support officers who work daily to safeguard lives and property across Rivers State.

“The Commissioner recognises that the strength of the Nigeria Police Force lies in the health and wellbeing of its officers, men and their families.

“This outreach is organised specifically for you, the officers and men who serve daily to keep Rivers State safe, and for your loved ones who stand behind you.

“Your welfare remains the top priority of the Command. Today, the Police Medical Department will be providing free medical consultation, training, treatment, and health education to all personnel and their family members.

“This is our way of saying thank you for your sacrifice and to ensure that you and your families stay healthy and fit to serve,” he said.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Medical Services, Ahunanya Nnadozie, said the outreach aligns with welfare directives issued by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Force Medical Director, AIG Nkechi Eze.
