The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has honoured outstanding civil servants for their contributions to public service, presenting cash awards during the 2026 Civil Service Week in Abuja through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund.
The foundation said the awards recognised civil servants whose dedication, professionalism and impact have contributed to strengthening public service delivery across Nigeria. The fund, established in 2022 in memory of the late Pastor Emily Aig-Imoukhuede, marked its fifth anniversary with the recognition.
The foundation disclosed this in a statement issued by its Deputy Director of Communications, Chioma Bright-Uhara, in Abuja.
Bright-Uhara said the honourees were recognised under two categories: the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award, which carries a cash prize of ₦500,000, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award, which carries ₦250,000.
She said the awards were designed to recognise public servants who exemplify excellence, accountability, professionalism and commitment to service.
According to her, the endowment fund has, since its inception, awarded more than ₦60 million to civil servants across 50 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for outstanding service and contributions to public sector excellence.
Bright-Uhara said the endowment fund was one of several initiatives through which the foundation supported the development of high-performing public sector leaders and institutions.
She added that one of the recipients, Anthony Ogwo, was an alumnus of the Aig-Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme (PLP), Cohort Five. According to her, his recognition reflected the foundation’s commitment to developing the capacity of public servants to provide exceptional leadership across the public service.
Speaking at the Civil Service Week Award, the foundation’s Director of Programmes, Chioma Njoku, said recognising excellence was important to strengthening public institutions.
Njoku said public servants played a vital role in shaping the quality of governance and improving outcomes for citizens.
“Through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund, we celebrate individuals whose commitment to excellence, integrity and service sets a standard for others and reinforces the values that underpin an effective and citizen-centred public service,” she said.
Njoku said the foundation remained committed to supporting initiatives that encouraged professionalism, recognised excellence and contributed to the continuous improvement of Nigeria’s public service.
