The Kebbi State Government has approved N2.11 billion to clear outstanding gratuities and death benefits owed to 772 beneficiaries, reinforcing its commitment to improving the welfare of retired public servants and the families of deceased employees.

Governor Dr. Nasir Idris approved the payment, which covers retired state civil servants, contract staff, as well as retirees from the Local Government Service and the Local Government Education Authorities.

The approval was announced by the Head of Service, Malami Shakari, in a statement signed by the Director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala.

According to the statement, the sum of N2,110,403,965.83 will settle gratuities and death benefits that accrued between 16 September 2025 and 15 January 2026.

“The approval underscores Governor Idris’ commitment to improving the welfare of workers, retirees, and the families of deceased public servants by ensuring the timely settlement of their entitlements,” Shakari said.

Government officials said the disbursement forms part of the administration’s broader efforts to eliminate the backlog of retirement benefits, provide financial relief to retirees, and support the families of deceased public servants across the state.
