Zamfara Gov Appoints Shehu Baraya as New Head of Service

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of Service following the retirement of the former Head of Service, Malam Yakubu Haidara.

The appointment was announced on Thursday in Gusau by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, in a statement. Baraya, who was until his appointment the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara Civil Service Commission, succeeds Haidara and is expected to bring his experience to bear in improving professionalism, discipline, productivity and efficiency in the state civil service.

According to the statement, Haidara recently retired from the State Civil Service after years of meritorious service.

Baraya is a seasoned career civil servant with extensive institutional experience and a deep understanding of public administration. He has served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries before his appointment as Head of Service.

Governor Lawal expressed appreciation to Haidara for his dedicated service and contributions to the development of the State Civil Service. He also wished him a fulfilling and rewarding post-service life.

Lawal charged the new Head of Service to use his wealth of experience to deepen professionalism, strengthen discipline, improve productivity and drive greater efficiency across the Civil Service.

The appointment takes immediate effect.
