The Kaduna State Government has commenced the 2026 civil service confirmation examination for 3,000 civil servants, with the Head of Service, Jummai Bako, describing the exercise as a critical requirement for newly recruited employees to secure permanent appointments and access key career benefits.
Speaking on Wednesday at the ICT Centre of Kaduna State University’s main campus, where the examination commenced, Bako said the exercise is being conducted by the Office of the Head of Service in collaboration with Kumesh Integrated Concept Ltd.
She explained that successful candidates would become eligible for benefits including leave of absence, transfer of service, and in-service training.
According to Bako, every civil servant recruited into the Kaduna State Civil Service is required to sit the Confirmation of Appointment and Confirmation (CAC) examination before being confirmed in permanent employment.
“Once a civil servant is confirmed, they become eligible to enjoy leave of absence, transfer of service, and even in-service training,” she said.
“That is why it is very important for every civil servant recruited into the service of the Kaduna State Government to write the CAC exams for confirmation of appointment,” she added.
Bako explained that the examination covers subjects directly related to the day-to-day responsibilities of civil servants, including administrative, financial, legal, and medical courses, as well as general knowledge of Kaduna State and Nigeria.
She said the questions are divided into about five sections to reflect the different departments and cadres within the civil service, including administrative, legal, and medical personnel.
According to her, the examination is open to civil servants from ministries, departments, agencies, and the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, excluding tertiary institutions.
She also announced that candidates who do not pass the examination this year will have another opportunity to retake it in 2027.
Bako encouraged all candidates to give the examination their best, stressing that confirmation into permanent service provides access to important career opportunities and employment benefits.
She further commended Governor Uba Sani for approving funds for the exercise and praised his commitment to the welfare of civil servants through salary adjustments and the prompt payment of salaries.
“His Excellency has done a lot for civil servants. On behalf of the civil servants, I promise that we will continue to do our best in implementing government policies because civil servants are the engine of every government,” she said.
