The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has unveiled a series of staff welfare initiatives aimed at improving remuneration, supporting career development, and enhancing workplace conditions.
The Rector and Chief Executive, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, announced the measures during a courtesy visit by the national leadership of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) to the College’s Management Boardroom.
Dr. Ismaila said the College remained committed to creating a more rewarding work environment for its employees.
“We remain committed to improving staff welfare through better remuneration, career development opportunities, and a conducive working environment,” he said.
A key feature of the new welfare package is the introduction of study leave with full pay. Under the previous policy, employees proceeding on study leave did so without receiving their salaries.
The Rector explained that the policy change is intended to encourage continuous learning, professional development, and capacity building among staff.
He also disclosed that management is working towards implementing a new salary structure that will be competitive with those of other agencies within the aviation sector, alongside a comprehensive review of the College’s Conditions of Service.
