The Nasarawa State Government will commence the payment of a 50 per cent end-of-year salary bonus to civil servants from December 27, 2025, the Accountant-General of the state, Dr. Musa Mohammed, has announced.
Dr. Mohammed disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Lafia, noting that the payment is in line with a directive from the state governor, Mr. Abdullahi Sule.
According to the Accountant-General, the directive was first announced by Governor Sule during his address to workers at the 2025 Civil Service Week celebration. He explained that the initiative is designed to support civil servants and recognise their contributions to the development of the state throughout the year.
“The gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state and citizens in general,” Dr. Mohammed stated.
He added that this marks the first time in the history of Nasarawa State that civil servants will receive an end-of-year bonus.
Dr. Mohammed further explained that the bonus would be paid separately, rather than alongside the December salary, to ensure proper accounting procedures and enhance convenience for workers.
Expressing optimism on behalf of the government, the Accountant-General said he expects civil servants to “reciprocate the governor’s magnanimity through renewed dedication to their assigned responsibilities.”
