The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and Coronation Group, has launched a digital-upskilling initiative aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and citizen-focused service delivery across the public sector.
The programme seeks to address persistent challenges arising from outdated processes and low digital proficiency within the Civil Service by equipping officers with the skills required for technology-driven governance. It focuses on improving data use, automation and decision-making.
According to the foundation, the initiative will build digital competence across four core areas: Microsoft Office productivity tools, cloud collaboration and communication, enterprise systems and digital-workplace readiness. These competencies are intended to improve institutional efficiency and enhance citizen outcomes by enabling Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to operate with greater speed, accuracy and coordination.
Training in Microsoft Office applications is expected to strengthen administrative precision, while cloud-collaboration tools will support agility and seamless information exchange across MDAs. Participants will also receive hands-on instruction in Enterprise Content Management and Customer Relationship Management systems to automate workflows, enhance data accessibility and deliver faster services.
Speaking on the importance of the intervention, the Deputy Director of Programmes at the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, Ms. Eniola Olowu, said digitalisation has become central to public-sector reform. “Digitalisation is central to building a modern, efficient and citizen-centred Civil Service. Through this initiative, we are empowering civil servants with practical digital skills that will enable smarter decision-making, improve accountability and ultimately enhance public service delivery,” she said.
Ms. Olowu noted that the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s digitalisation agenda, including the rollout of the Enterprise Content Management System under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025.
The Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Coronation Group, Ms. Ngozi Akinyele, said public-sector efficiency is fundamental to national economic progress. “At Coronation, we recognise that a vibrant private sector thrives on the foundation of an efficient public service. By supporting this digital-upskilling initiative, we are contributing to the creation of a more effective and transparent governance environment—one that enables investor confidence, accelerates business growth and drives sustainable economic progress,” she said.
The training, delivered by Wootlab Foundation in Abuja, will equip 500 civil servants from the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Federal Civil Service Commission and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. Beneficiaries include both directorate and mid-level officers.
The initiative advances the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s mission to strengthen public-sector performance through digital reform while supporting Coronation Group’s sustainability agenda on inclusion and good governance. Together with the OHCSF, the organisations said the partnership demonstrates how cross-sector collaboration can accelerate reform and build a digitally enabled Civil Service for sustainable national development.
