Egbin Power has recognised and rewarded outstanding employees for their contributions to the company’s performance, using its 2026 Employee Recognition Awards to celebrate excellence, innovation, and dedication across the organisation.
The awards ceremony, held on Wednesday, brought together management and employees to honour high-performing staff members from a wide range of departments, including Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, Human Resources, Procurement, Capital Projects Delivery, Information Technology and Business Innovation, and Support Services.
Amos Oshanugo of the Instrumentation and Control Department emerged as the organisation’s top performer, receiving a Chery Tiggo 2 Pro Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) as the overall award prize.
Chidima Celestine from the Operations Department and Endurance Otaru from Business Operations were named first and second runners-up respectively and received cash rewards in recognition of their contributions.
Chief Executive Officer Mokhtar Bounour said the company remains committed to recognising employees whose efforts drive organisational success and operational excellence.
“At Egbin Power, we believe excellence is not an accident. It is built through hard work, teamwork, and the courage to go beyond expectations. That is why we are passionate about celebrating excellence, commitment, teamwork, and the people whose efforts continue to power Egbin forward every single day,” Bounour said.
He noted that the awards programme was designed to spotlight individuals who consistently exceed expectations and make significant contributions to the organisation’s growth.
“The initiative spotlights those who go above and beyond, those who quietly make extraordinary contributions, and those who consistently raise the standard across our organisation.
“These efforts are seen, valued, and rewarded. When we celebrate results, we create a ripple effect,” he said.
According to Bounour, employee recognition plays a critical role in reinforcing accountability, motivation, and a shared commitment to organisational objectives.
“It motivates teams to raise the bar, strengthens accountability, and deepens our shared commitment to powering Nigeria. Our people are our greatest asset, and their growth and success will always be a priority for us,” he added.
The company stated that several other employees across different business units were also recognised for outstanding performance during the year under review.
Industry observers note that structured employee recognition programmes are increasingly being used by employers to strengthen engagement, boost morale, encourage high performance, and support talent retention in competitive labour markets.
