The Leke Abejide Foundation has expanded its ₦710 million empowerment programme to seven communities in Yagba Federal Constituency as part of its grassroots development initiative.
The communities visited on May 11, 2026, included Ogbe, Ogbom, Ogga, Omi, Odo-Ara, Igbaruku, and Iyamerin.
Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, Member of the House of Representatives representing Yagba Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise, said the disbursement would be implemented in phases to promote community empowerment and grassroots development.
Abejide stated that the release of the second batch of funds would depend on political support from beneficiary communities.
“The continuation of the programme depends on the ability of the communities to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election,” he said.
He added that the initiative reflects his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and to national development, while stressing that political alignment would remain central to sustaining the programme.
