More than 5,000 professionals from various industries are expected to converge in Lagos on May 1, 2026, for the maiden edition of the Corporate Olympics, an initiative aimed at promoting workplace wellness, teamwork, and healthy competition among corporate organisations.
The event, scheduled to hold at the Landmark Event Centre, will bring together professionals from leading organisations for a series of sporting challenges, wellness activities, and collaborative competitions designed to strengthen workplace relationships and enhance productivity.
The Technical Director of Work and Wellness Ltd., Mr. Trebla Albert, announced the initiative in a statement issued on Monday in Lagos, explaining that the Corporate Olympics was conceived to celebrate the human effort behind corporate performance.
Albert said Nigeria’s corporate ecosystem was about to witness a distinctive blend of business, wellness, and competitive spirit as the event prepares to make its debut.
According to him, the initiative will provide professionals across sectors with an opportunity to connect beyond the confines of the office environment through sports and wellness activities.
“The Corporate Olympics is more than a sporting event; it is a movement that celebrates the human engine behind business performance,” Albert said.
He added that the event would create an avenue for professionals across industries to engage in healthy competition while strengthening bonds both within and between organisations.
Albert further explained that the initiative was designed to encourage companies to prioritise employee wellbeing as a critical driver of productivity and innovation.
Also speaking, the Project Manager for the event, Mr. Daniel Maduneme, said the Corporate Olympics distinguishes itself from traditional corporate gatherings that are largely centred on conferences and networking sessions.
Maduneme noted that the event would deliver an immersive experience by combining sports, strategy, media engagement, and brand activation.
“Most corporate events revolve around meetings and conversations, but this event takes it further by creating an experience where professionals can connect through sport and wellness,” he said.
He added that the initiative was structured to strengthen teamwork, promote healthier lifestyles, and build stronger relationships among professionals across diverse industries.
A resource person for the event, Mr. Maje Ayida, also explained that companies interested in participating could register corporate teams, sponsor activation zones, or partner with the organisers as strategic collaborators.
Ayida said such partnerships would help promote workplace wellness, improve employee performance, and encourage a culture of healthy competition within the corporate environment.
He expressed optimism that the initiative would evolve into a major corporate sporting platform that promotes wellness, collaboration, and stronger connections within Nigeria’s business community.
