RCCG Targets Youth Unemployment with Ambitious Digital Skills Drive for 8,400 Nigerians

By Deborah Bodunde

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has unveiled plans to equip 8,400 Nigerians with free digital skills as part of an initiative aimed at tackling unemployment and preparing young people for opportunities in the digital economy.

The programme, coordinated by Love Transformation Academy in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants, will deliver structured digital training across RCCG parishes within Continent 3.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Pastor Johnson Odesola, Overseer of RCCG Continent 3, said the initiative is designed to provide practical, income-generating competencies to youths, young adults, and members of the public.

“We are empowering 8,400 participants with relevant digital and entrepreneurial skills that can open doors to employment, freelancing, and business ownership,” Pastor Odesola said.

According to him, the training aligns with broader efforts to prepare Nigerians for emerging roles in the global digital economy and to expand access to sustainable income pathways.

Courses to be offered include video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, content creation, and the monetisation of digital skills.

Pastor Odesola said the training would be delivered free of charge and would operate on a first-come, first-served registration basis.

RCCG parishes across regions, provinces, and zones in Continent 3 will serve as study centres to ensure accessibility and grassroots participation. Training sessions will be broadcast via Zoom, enabling participants to join from their local parishes while receiving centralised instruction.

He added that participants would receive mentorship, follow-up support, and opportunities for integration into community-based projects. The programme is open to both church members and non-members.

The initiative’s coordinator, Mr. Richard Ayibiowu, described the scheme as a response to prevailing economic realities and the urgent need to equip young Nigerians with monetisable skills.

“By equipping individuals with monetisable digital skills, we are helping them build sustainable income pathways and contribute meaningfully to society,” Ayibiowu said.

Organisers said the expected outcomes include the creation of new employment and freelance opportunities, the development of digital entrepreneurs and content creators, and broader participation in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

Registration details are available through RCCG administrative offices across Continent 3.
