FCT Head of Service Directs Workers to Resume Duties After Court Ruling

By Mariam Aligbeh

The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mrs. Nancy Nathan, has directed all FCT workers to resume work on Wednesday, following a court ruling that ordered the suspension of the ongoing strike.

Mrs. Nathan gave the directive in a circular issued on Tuesday in Abuja.

The circular instructed Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and heads of agencies to maintain staff attendance registers to ensure full compliance with the directive.

The order followed a ruling by Justice E. Subilim of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, which directed FCT workers under the Joint Union Action Congress (JUAC) to suspend their strike action.

Mrs. Nathan emphasised that all staff were expected to return immediately to their respective duty posts.

“Please, bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all concerned for immediate compliance,” she said.

She further reassured workers of the FCT Administration’s commitment to their welfare while urging them to comply with official directives.
