Strategic Outsourcing Ltd. (SOL), a leading human resources and workforce management firm, has issued a formal statement to address what it described as misinformation circulating on social media regarding field canvassers seconded to its client, AfriMillions.
In the statement, SOL clarified that, as the Employer of Record, it bears full responsibility for the recruitment, deployment, and compensation of all personnel engaged during the recent marketing initiative.
The statement, signed by Dr. Olufemi Ogunlowo, SOL’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the clarification was necessary to correct public misunderstanding and provide accurate information to stakeholders.
“SOL confirms that AfriMillions is a client of our firm and bears zero responsibility for the administration of payroll, field benefits, or employment contracts for canvassers. Any claim suggesting that AfriMillions is responsible for these matters is factually incorrect and a misrepresentation of the contractual structure. We take full responsibility for ensuring that all legitimate personnel are remunerated according to their terms of engagement,” the statement read.
The company further addressed claims circulating on X (formerly Twitter) regarding an alleged “two-month” unpaid period.
“Contrary to these claims, the activity in question was a strictly defined one-month pilot phase. This project was designed to assess operational frameworks for a potential longer-term programme. Claims of a two-month engagement are inaccurate and appear intended to mislead the public,” it added.
Addressing a specific allegation made by a user claiming to be a relative of one of the canvassers, SOL stated: “Regarding the specific allegations raised by a user identifying as a relative of a canvasser, our internal deployment records show no record of direct engagement for the individual named. While field operations involve complex data, we cannot honour claims for individuals not captured in our verified system.”
SOL also described the ongoing social media commentary as a deliberate attempt to damage its client’s reputation.
“SOL views the ongoing social media campaign against our client as a deliberate attempt to cause reputational damage. The use of terms such as ‘scam’ and ‘scammer’ constitutes actionable defamation.
“We hereby demand that the user @PaulinaS62181 and any other parties involved cease and desist from further disseminating these false and injurious allegations against AfriMillions. SOL is currently reviewing these online interactions and reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies to protect the integrity of our client and our professional standing.”
The company reaffirmed its commitment to ethical workforce management and invited any canvasser who participated in the one-month pilot phase with legitimate, verifiable payment concerns to visit its offices for immediate data reconciliation, or to contact its client services team through the official channels provided.
It also urged members of the public to utilise formal dispute-resolution channels rather than resorting to social media for industrial matters.
