Lagos Seeks Stronger Private Sector Partnerships to Deliver 100,000 Jobs Framework

The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling unemployment by strengthening collaboration with the private sector to expand access to decent work and enterprise opportunities for residents.

The ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lolade Aina, disclosed this during a strategic industry engagement with Workforce Consulting and Courier Logistics Ltd. in Alausa, Lagos. She explained that the meeting was convened to accelerate the implementation of the ministry’s 100,000 Lives Strategic Framework.

Speaking at the engagement, Aina said the ministry is focused on building structured partnerships that will translate into expanded job opportunities, strengthened employability pathways, and sustainable income generation for Lagos residents.

She noted that the ministry is deliberately shifting from policy discussions to the delivery of measurable employment outcomes.

“The goal is clear impact. We are not just counting numbers; we are ensuring that lives are meaningfully transformed through access to decent work and enterprise opportunities,” Mrs. Aina stated. “Strategic industry collaboration is critical to achieving this.”

The Permanent Secretary further emphasised that the ministry remains committed to aligning government initiatives with private sector capacity in order to close skills gaps, improve workforce readiness, and develop scalable employment solutions across the state.

According to her, the engagement underscored the ministry’s resolve to act with urgency and precision in delivering its mandate.

Aina added that the initiative would further strengthen Lagos State’s position as a hub for opportunity, innovation, and economic empowerment.
